UK Radioplayer

UK Radioplayer is a platform which allows a common user experience across radio stations across the UK. It’s a non-profit partnership between the BBC and commercial radio. It originally launched with a desktop player and has since expanded tp a range of smartphone apps. Radioplayer has become an international showcase of how the radio industry can work together for a better listener experience.

We began by launching iPhone and Android phone apps, and have since developed tablet versions for iOS, Android and the Amazon Kindle. The apps continue to get high ratings in the app stores and are highly recommended by industry professionals.

The app was one of the first UK radio focused apps to integrate with Android Wear, Apple Watch, Android Auto and CarPlay capabilities. Displaying now playing information, as well as the user’s favourite and recommendation lists.

Radioplayer Worldwide has been working with international territories to bring the technology to other radio markets.
